Why Your Website Isn't Getting Any Enquiries (And How to Fix It)

You've got a website. So why is it so quiet? Usually it's one of five things — and they're all fixable.

Having a website and having a website that brings in work are two very different things. If yours is sitting there looking pretty but the enquiries aren't coming, it's almost always one of these five reasons.

1. Nobody's finding it

The most common one. If your site doesn't show up when people search for what you do, it doesn't matter how good it is. Check: does your business appear on Google for your service and your area? If not, you've got a visibility problem, not a website problem — and it starts with the SEO basics and a Google Business Profile.

2. It's not clear what to do next

People rarely go looking for a hidden "contact" link. You have to tell them, clearly and often: "Call us", "Get a quote", "Book now". If your calls to action are vague or buried, enquiries dry up. Put one obvious action above the fold and repeat it down the page.

3. It doesn't build trust fast enough

Visitors are asking themselves one quiet question: can I trust these people? If there are no reviews, no real photos, no sign of a human being, they hesitate — and hesitation kills enquiries. Add genuine customer reviews, real photos of your work, and a proper About page.

4. It's slow or clunky on mobile

If your site is a chore to use on a phone, people give up before they enquire. A fast, smooth mobile experience isn't a nice-to-have; it's the difference between a message and a bounce.

5. It's talking about you, not them

"We were established in 2004 and pride ourselves on quality." Nobody cares. Customers care about their problem and whether you can solve it. Rewrite your copy to lead with what they get, and the enquiries follow.

How to find out which one it is

Usually it's a combination. The fastest way to diagnose it is to look at the whole journey — from "can Google find me?" to "is it obvious how to get in touch?" — and find the weakest links.
